The offshore oil and gas industry is a leader when it comes to improving HSE performance across its assets. But over recent years, the KPI measures and trends would suggest that the improvements we enjoyed in the past are not so obvious. Are we now stuck on a plateau? This session takes a leap into the future, discussing topics such as developing world class leadership capabilities, exploring the potential of artificial intelligence, innovative technology and new understanding of human performance.

Howard Harte
Operations Manager

Howard is an Operations Manager in HSE’s Energy Division managing offshore specialist inspectors. He has undertaken a wide range of HSE offshore roles and led Key Programme 4 on Ageing and Life Extension. Prior to joining HSE he worked in various risk management consultancy roles. He is a Chartered Engineer and has degrees in Physics and Management Science.

Rick Graves
Global Head of Energy and Operations Excellence

Rick leads Fenroc’s Operational Excellence practice which is focused on supporting companies in Energy and other asset intensive industries meet the challenges of delivering safe, compliant, and efficient world class operational performance. Rick has over 35 years of experience in the Energy industry and has held senior leadership positions both in central global roles aswell as in multiple operational regions including North Africa, Middle East, Norway and the North Sea. Rick’s is a qualified executive coach and is passionate about building operational leadership capability within his clients.

Upinder Aujla
Managing Director and Global Head of Strategy & Transformation

Upinder leads Fenroc’s Strategy & Transformation practice which if focused on supporting companies define and deliver on their purpose and strategic objectives. Over the past 20 years Upinder has supported FTSE 100 companies and Government with strategy, delivering complex transformation programmes, organisation effectiveness, culture change and leadership development. Upinder established Fenroc to support ambitious organisations accelerate their journey to achieving their purpose and making a positive contribution towards their people, communities, and the planet.

Bernardo Perez Orozco
Machine Learning Specialist

Bernardo joined Mind Foundry as a Customer-facing Data Scientist after finishing his PhD in Machine Learning at the University of Oxford. Having originally read for a software engineering degree at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), he has a keen interest in the practical issues that arise when bringing Machine Learning models to life in industry. At Mind Foundry, Bernardo has worked directly with customers from a wide range of sectors to enhance their day-to-day with Machine Learning models. These include those within health and safety, insurance, quantitative finance, life sciences, and others. His previous professional experience includes acting as a Scientific Adviser to the Mexican Congress’ Office for Science and Technology, in addition to internships at Microsoft Co. (Redmond, US) and the Alan Turing Institute (London, UK).

Gurinder Tamber
SVP Sales
Mind Foundry Ltd

G (Gurinder) Tamber is SVP Sales at Mind Foundry. He has 20 years international experience selling data, technology, and investment solutions to federal, commercial, and NGO clients. Prior to Mind Foundry, he spent 5 years in FinTech and 10 years at the forefront of investment capital to renewables. He started his career in energy trading and consulting.

Martyn Tulloch
Head of Energy System Integration

A chartered engineer who has worked in both the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors over the last 20 years, Martyn has the privilege of leading a team that is passionate about ensuring that the oil and gas industry helps enable the transition to a low carbon future. He believes firmly that the skills, experience and infrastructure established over the last four decades in NE Scotland and the wider UK oil and gas industry will have a pivotal role to play if we are to meet our net zero targets. The Energy System Integration team covers three industrial sectors that offer huge growth potential – offshore renewables, hydrogen and CCUS.

Dr Marcin Nazaruk

Marcin brings a unique combination of a world-class multi-disciplinary expertise (award winning Ph.D. in industrial psychology and broad range of advanced qualifications in management (MBA), coaching, safety, systems thinking, behavior change, project management, or instructional design) with robust and in-depth practical application. This has attracted multiple, international awards.
